Dear Stephen,
Are the tiny blood red dots that I have all over my torso from babesia? I had three nights of night sweats ten years ago after my initial infection and had the feeling I couldn’t get air for a few days. I still get this occasionally. But not a regular flush or night sweats.
Stephen’s response:
These are commonly associated with babesia and bartonella but other infections can cause this type of symptom. Babesia and bartonella can cause tiny ruptures in small blood vessels under the surface of the skin which lead to the spots. The simplest intervention is the use of Japanese knotweed root or ECGC supplements (or drinking a lot of green tea as a habit). If you have no other symptoms I would not worry about a focused treatment for either of those co-infections.
Stephen
